You are destined for great things! You are chosen to conquer your fears and stand bold against the enemy! The Holy Spirit is not a cute saying but it’s a gift given to us by God who loved us so much that He sent His son so we don’t have to walk in the dark anymore but walk in the light in true love. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Christ was sacrificed and then raised from the dead to bring peace to our world, this sacrifice was done out of true unconditional love. The Holy Spirit is a comforter that only comes through believing in His power. I am a true believer of the Holy Spirit because as a young man I was raised on mans traditions. These traditions that were taught to me at my old churches degraded women, disrespected Christ, and put people in a position where they had no choice but to leave.
No church is perfect but Christ love is perfect and we should be looking for Christ in a church or organization, and not man, money, or positions. As a minister I have come a long way to realize that this walk and purpose is not about me but it’s about reaching people that are in need of true salvation. This walk is not about how big our church should be or how much we put in our tithes and offering. God is the high priest and He has given us a new law and that law is pure and true. Hebrew 7:26, “Such a high priest truly meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. 27 Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself. 28 For the law appoints as high priests men in all their weakness; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever.”
Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem giving money to a church but it only has to come through Christ and not the pastors, bishops, or elders. Like you saw in Hebrews 7, Christ is the high priest and we must not be deceived when a Pastor tells you that you will not prosper if you don’t pay your tithes. When you give your money to a church it goes to the church and not to God. God does not need our money, but a church does because many pastors have made their church their God which needs a whole lot of attention.
Mark 12:29-33, “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. [e] 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
32 “Well said, teacher,” the man replied. “You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. 33 To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
Even the teacher that knew the laws understood that we must love God and put away traditional thinking, and know that tithes and offering comes from the old law which God required the Israelites to obey. If churches want to take on these traditions from the Old Testament they must obey them all and not some of them. If you want Christ to bless you then you must give freely and without expecting anything in return. I heard a saying last night and it said “a gift is not a gift if the giver expects a gift in return.” God paid the price for our sins and we must accept this purpose that comes through the Holy Spirit. God requires us to love Him unconditionally, feed the poor, love one another, pray for one another, and intercede for one another. We all need to stop gossiping and living a selfish life.
What God has for us is peace and eternal love that no man, money, family, friend, clothes, and shoes can give us. This peace and love intercedes for us every second no matter how dark our lives may seem. Love for money and possessions won’t get us to Heaven, but helping someone in need no matter how busy or tired we are will get us to that beautiful place called Heaven. Once we get a word from God through prayers and put it to action through faith, we are then walking without crutches. Matthew 10:42, “And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.”
