Have you met Luke Warm?

In Joyce Meyer’s book, The Confident Woman, she gives an illustration of a church family who is about to lose everything. The husband lost his job and has been searching five months for a new one. The bank is about to foreclose on their loan and they really have nowhere else to go.

“They are desperate and don’t know what to do. Everyone tells them that God will provide, but no one is doing anything.

We must realize that God works through people. We are His hands, feet, arms, mouth, eyes, and ears.”(Meyer, 2006, pg. 225)

Have you ever heard that before from someone who claims to follow the Lord? They say God will provide. What does that mean for you and for them?

Let’s take a moment to dissect this situation. It’s pretty easy to see, huh?

  1. The family attends a church
  2. The family tells the church and/or church members that they will be out on the streets in a  matter of days/weeks.hours.
  3. The church/family/friend says, “God will provide”

I don’t know about you, but Lukewarm folks (See: Rev_3:16  So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth),  have just raised their unconcerned head. Luke Warm is a fictional, but very real person who is dedicated to the church, on fire for God with the clapping, the dancing the shouting, they read the Word daily and usually you may find them attending conferences- bringing a friend or two.

When it comes to action however, becoming God’s extended limbs to help and to really apply what has been learned within the church walls- they look the other way.

Sounds familiar? I’m sure it does. To be real, we have all done it, or are doing it now.

It saddens me when someone needs help and the people with resources are not willing to show God.

I believe the Enemy is working through some “saved” individuals by placing fear in their hearts and this rips Christ’s Kingdom apart. If we can’t rely on friends outside the church, we should be able to rely on the church for our help.

The devil knows that if people were to start reaching out and helping without being scared kittens- it will literally burst hell wide open and the light will be felt and seen in everyone across the globe.

Wouldn’t that be nice?

Wouldn’t it be worth it to help someone in need?

If you have no resources to help- do you know someone who could help the person(s) in your church, neighborhood, job, school, etc.?

Choose today to be no longer afraid.
