Spending time with family as a father and intercessor at the ‘Livingstone House of Prayer’

Chris Carter – a worship leader and musician at the ‘Livingstone House of Prayer‘ takes time out of his schedule to spend quality time with his loving children (Images above). As Chris Carter plays the joyous melodies from his guitar at a Monday evening  set, his wife ‘Parwin Carter’ sits in meditation in the prayer room with a peaceful smile on her face while she watches her husband and their four children sing with such joy that can only come from God.

Chris Carter is a man who loves to worship God and who loves to spend quality time with his four children; it is such a beauty to see a father singing and worshiping God with his children. Chris carter loves to help people in need and he does it without questions but with a humble spirit. Children need a father figure in their lives who will show them that strong and authoritative love; many children are missing out on this type of love from their father.

There are so many fun and friendly places to go that a father can take his children to show that unconditional love; he can even make up fun games to play with his children at home. Love takes sacrifice and clearing a busy schedule even if it’s a few days out the week to spend quality time with your children.

Chris Carter shows this love as a father to his children, a love so deep that while playing the guitar at the Livingstone House of Prayer he sings with passion for God with his three girls while his son plays the drums with a heart to want to learn. Chris gently helps the children on when to sing or what beat to play, which at times the children just flow like a calm river singing to the Lord with such passion and zeal.  Chris is truly an example of how a father should be; we can all learn from fathers like him. Let’s be the strong men that God created us to be, just as God loves us unconditionally lets show the same love to our children; that is the true strength. I can truly say that it is truly a blessing to have a friend like Chris Carter.

1 Corinthians 13:6 – 7 ‘Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Livingstone House of Prayer
Livingstone House of Prayer

Livingstone House of Prayer (LHOP) opened on January 1, 2008, we love to pray and worship God! Our prayer room is a place where people can come to encounter God. The room is filled with music at all times, either played by our musicians or via live video feed from the International House of Prayer in Kansas City.

In pursuing night and day worship and prayer, we are actually tapping into an ancient tradition that goes back to Biblical times. King David instituted 24/7 worship in the tabernacle of his time. Jesus commanded his disciples to “watch and pray” so that they would be ready for His return (Luke 21:36). Throughout the centuries after Christ, monks, nuns, and others have pursued round-the-clock prayer and worship, including the Moravian community in Germany, which resulted in the birth of the modern missions movement. Today, God has renewed the church’s interest in intercession, and houses of prayer are springing up all over the world. We consider ourselves privileged to be a part of this movement and carry on Jesus’ mandate, and we invite you to join us!

About the International House of Prayer Missions Base

On May 7, 1999, the International House of Prayer Missions Base was founded by Mike Bickle and twenty full-time “intercessory missionaries” who cried out to God in prayer with worship for thirteen hours each day. Four months later, on September 19, 1999, prayer and worship extended to the full 24/7 schedule.

The International House of Prayer of Kansas City is an evangelical missions organization that is committed to praying for the release of the fullness of God’s power and purpose, as we actively win the lost, heal the sick, feed the poor, make disciples, and impact the seven spheres of society—family, education, government, economy, arts, media, and religion. Our vision is to work in relationship with the larger Body of Christ to serve the Great Commission, as we seek to walk out the two great commandments to love God and people.

Combining 24/7 prayers for justice with 24/7 works of justice

On September 19, 2009, while celebrating our ten-year anniversary together, we made a sober commitment before God to combine 24/7 prayers for justice with 24/7 works of justice until the Lord returns. Outreach has always been a vital part of our mission. However, at that time, we set our heart to significantly increase our outreach and ministry. Thus, we are launching new outreach ministries that will continue 24/7 alongside our 24/7 prayer and worship.
